History of the L.B. Bell Community Center!

The church on Bell Lane in Pea Ridge was established and built around 1920 by Barclay Bell, an ordained Evangelist of the Church of Christ. Initially, church members held services under a scuppernong arbor until they could afford to construct the church building. Barclay Bell served as the pastor for many years, also conducting meetings and revivals at sister churches in Chumuckla and Enon, Florida, and Slocomb, Alabama. These events often lasted for weeks, attracting people from surrounding areas. In the late 1960s, due to declining health and memory issues, Barclay Bell retired from the pulpit in his 70s and passed the leadership of the church to his nephew, Oliver Hinson, an ordained minister.
